We are fortunate to have Dr. Scott Bowdridge as our feature speaker this year. Please join us at 9:00AM EST for the conference.
Dr. Scott Bowdridge will be speaking at the Mountain Premier Invitational on the morning of May 12th on Small Ruminant Parasitism. Dr. Bowdridge is a member of the American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (www.wormx.info) and he is also an Assistant Professor of Food Animal Production at West Virginia Univeristy where he leads the West Virginia Ram & Buck Test. Dr. Bowdridge is a California native and was raised on a small sheep operation where his family raised purebred Rambouillet sheep. He received his B.S. from Cal State Chico, M.S. from the University of Maine and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. His main research interest is determining immune responses generated by different breeds of sheep to infection with Haemonchus contortus. By utilizing parasite-resistant St. Croix sheep his lab is able to compare immune responses during different stages of Haemonchus contortus infection.
Dr. Bowdridge will also speak on the research plans with the WVU Buck Test. WVU Buck test participants are also encouraged to attend the sale and conference while dropping off their bucks at the WVU test site in Morgantown, WV this same weekend.
